Get your sights set for the 8th annual NEW Donate Life Walk on Saturday, April 18th at Bay View Middle School. Again this year, the Bay View Student Council, in conjunction with Donate Life Wisconsin and various local businesses, will be hosting a 2.5 mile fun walk/run to raise awareness for the need for more organ donors and to celebrate the lives that have been made better through organ donation and transplantation. Bay View Student Council’s goal this year is to raise $20,000 and to have over 600 people attend our walk! To do this, they are asking for support of HSSD and the community. Here are some ways that you might consider helping: 1. Register to walk on April 18th. Here is the link to the website where you can sign up: http://newdonatelifewalk.weebly.com/ 2. Like us on Facebook and share the information about the walk: https://www.facebook.com/newdonatelifewalk/ 3. Sponsor a silent auction item -- consider doing it with your department or your team! Morning Drop Off
We have been reminding students that the only way they should be entering the building in the morning (prior to the bell ringing) is through the doors marked #8. These doors are located in the back of the building and lead directly into the Galley which is our cafeteria. If students are in a morning activity, such as student council, or would like to eat breakfast, door #8 will be the only area students will be able to enter the building. Safety is a top priority. Following these morning procedures will help to keep our school safe. Thank you for your support and cooperation! Bay View Athletics Fundraiser
A&W (2002 Velp Ave) will donate 15% of sales from every food and beverage purchase to the Bay View Athletics Department for jerseys from 5pm - 9pm on the following dates:

Throughout the year, the Board of Education monitors student performance in HSSD Graduate Profile seven characteristics. At the December 9, 2019 Board meeting, we discussed the characteristic collaborator and progress being made to develop our students as helpful and active participants who share responsibility while working toward a common goal. Students have many opportunities to collaborate and be part of teams in classrooms, in music, physical education, and art, in athletics, and in a variety of extra-curricular activities. Through these experiences, they grow in their abilities to collaborate with their peers, as well as adults. Students learn to respect and encourage others, to adapt to changes, and to be reliable teammates. We talked with teachers from multiple grade levels successfully integrating technology into lessons and engaging students in becoming active and social learners, through co-use. When co-using a device, students are working with others to figure out how to navigate the content learning within the software, which can lead to higher-order questioning, predicting, inquiry, and other cognitive benefits from this social construction of knowledge. Seeing our students intentionally developing HSSD Graduate Profile characteristics is exciting and rewarding because we know they are being prepared to thrive in our complex and rapidly changing world.
